Body discovered at foot of cliffs

THE body of a man has been found below cliffs at a Kent seaside spot following a major search by the emergency services.

The search was launched after a member of the public found a man's jacket, keys and car at St Margaret's Bay, near Dover, at about 5.20pm on Wednesday night. The body was located at about 8.30pm.

Kent Police, Coastguard, Dover Lifeboat and an RAF air-sea rescue helicopter were all involved in the operation.

The man is believed to have been in his 60s. Police officers investigating the incident are not treating it as suspicious.
