Woman robbed of handbag in Effingham Street, Dover, boy suspects found in Folkestone

Three boys are in custody after a woman was mugged last night.

The victim, in her 50s, was walking along Effingham Street, Dover, at about 10.20pm when she noticed three boys following her.

One asked for directions to the train station before making threats towards the woman and grabbing her handbag.

A police spokesman said today: "She reported the robbery to Kent Police and officers located three boys aged 15, 14 and 12 a short while later at Folkestone Central train station.

"They were all arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody while enquiries continue."
