Cheerleaders from CJ's Dance and Fitness, Pencester Road, Dover received gold medals at British Cheerleading Competition in Telford

Twenty five cheerleaders from Dover have gained gold medals at the British Cheerleading Association competition.

Cheerleaders from CJ’s Dance and Fitness, Pencester Road, competed at the 2014 National Championships on Saturday, April 19, in Telford.

There were over 3,000 cheerleaders taking part which made it their biggest competition so far.

Coach Carol Jenkins said: “The girls did extremely well coming away with two national titles gaining gold medals in Mini Hip Hop and Junior Jazz.

“They also gained a third Place in the Youth Stunt Squad, fifth in the Mini Stunt Squad and sixth in the Junior Stunt Squad.

“A great weekend was had by all cheerleaders and parents.”

The girls, aged five to 15, are now preparing for their next competition in Guildford in a few weeks time.
