POLICE say they are concerned for the welfare of an 18-year-old man after some of his belongings were found on the cliff tops near Dover.

Coastguards discovered a bag belonging to Adeel Javaid near their headquarters at Langdon Cliffs on Monday night and alerted police.

An extensive search was carried out today, including use of the Coastguard aircraft, but search teams were hampered by bad weather conditions.

Mr Javaid comes from of Prior Avenue, Sutton, Surrey. Police say that a further search of the area is being planned.
