Delays have been felt around the district after two crashes.

Police were called to a multi-vehicle incident on the A2 at the top of Lydden Hill, between Dover and Canterbury, at 8.16am.

All lanes have now been opened.

A spokesman said: "The collision involved four vehicles: a Kia Rio, a Toyota Yaris, a DAF lorry and a Fiat panel van.

"One lane is still open although traffic is heavy and motorists are being advised to find an alternative route."

Ten minutes later, police were called to another crash involving two cars on the A257 at Sandwich.

A spokesman said: "Officers are in attendance as the road is partially blocked but no serious injuries have been reported."

A statement released by the fire service said: "Firefighters assisted at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on the coast-bound carriageway of the A2.

"Crews helped to release a woman who was trapped in a car. She was passed to the care of SECAmb."

Two fire engines were sent where they used the hydraulic cutting equipment.

The crews were stood down 9.36am.
