Delays to traffic in Dover after crash in Maison Dieu Road

There are delays to traffic in Dover after a van collided with a traffic light.

It happened at around 1.30pm in Maison Dieu Road near the Park Street junction. The road is now blocked with delays in both directions.

Police are currently at the scene and the van is waiting to be recovered shortly.

Crash causing delays in Maison Dieu Road

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was informed at 1.25pm that a van had collided with a traffic light on Maison Dieu Road and the driver’s airbag had deployed.

"The driver was checked over by SECAmb but does not have any serious injuries."

It is believed the driver, a man in his 50s, passed out and hit the traffic light. He was treated for a minor graze on his arm and no hospital treatment was needed.

One ambulance car assisted and has now left the scene.
