Question Time comes to Dover in two weeks.

And one of the speakers is Labour politician Keir Starmer who visited the port in January.

The programme will be filmed at Cruise Terminal 1 at the Western Docks on the evening of Thursday, March 15, for transmission at 10.45 that night.

The political debate programme tours the country and this is its fourth visit to Dover, the last one being in October 2015.

The panel then were present Home Secretary Amber Rudd, the current Shadow Policing Minister Louise Haigh, the journalist Rod Liddle, Ukip energy and industry spokesman Roger Helmer and the historian Simon Schama.

Mr Starmer, the Shadow Brexit Secretary, had come to Dover to express fears of delays for freight traffic coming to the port if there is not a proper deal for the UK’s leaving of the EU.

A second confirmed speaker is Mairead McGuinness, Irish MEP and vice-chairman of the European Parliament.

The other three guests will be confirmed shortly.

Presenter David Dimbleby said: "I am very much looking forward to bringing Question Time to Dover once again.

“What really matters is that we have a lively audience who want to speak their mind.

“ It’s a chance for Dover to get its voice heard not just by politicians, but right across the UK.”

The BBC One programme began in 1979 when it was chaired by Sir Robin Day.

Mr Dimbleby has been presenter since 1994.

The programme hears views from representatives of the government of the day, the opposition, other political parties, political commentators and well-known public figures.

There are about 100 people in the audience, selected to ensure political balance.
