Five-year-old boy hit by a car in Coombe Valley Road and taken to hospital via air ambulance

A five-year-old boy has been hit by a car in Dover this morning and taken to hospital by the air ambulance.

Police were called by ambulance crews at around 8.30am to reports a boy had been run over in Coombe Valley Road, near Jewson's.

It is believed he may be suffering from leg injuries.

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance

A Kent Police spokesman said: "It's not believed to be life threatening and there were no broken bones but he was taken to William Harvey hospital by air ambulance."

Emergency services left the scene at 9.25am and the road is now clear.

A spokesman for SECAmb said: "The boy was assessed and treated at the scene before being airlifted to William Harvey Hospital with injuries including potential leg injuries."
