Fire crews dealt with a blaze at a fish and chip shop in Whitfield this afternoon.

Two fire engines arrived at Silvano's Fish Bar in Sandwich Road to extinguish a fryer ablaze.

Firefighters administered first aid to a casualty at the scene as they used dry powder to calm the fire.

Crews were called out at just before 4.15pm.
