A group of Korean students and their teachers are due in Dover today (Thursday) for the start of an exchange project with three schools in Kent.

The group, from schools in South Korea, includes 32 pupils, two teachers and the principal of Inju Middle School, Incheon, Seoul.

The Korean pupils have been partnered with students from Dover Grammar School for Boys, Mascalls School in Paddock Wood and Sandwich Technology College.

They will be staying for two weeks and will follow a programme of activities including trips to London, Dover Castle, Canterbury and Oxford. They will also be joining their English partners at their schools for a special programme of workshops and lessons.

The programme begins with a reception at Dover Grammar School tomorrow (Friday) when staff, parents and students from the host schools will welcome the Korean visitors and offer them a traditional English tea.

The visitors will be back at the grammar school on Saturday to join the Saturday Academy which takes place every week at the school. They will spend the rest of their first weekend in England with their host families.

The schools involved in the programme plan to organise the return leg of the exchange to take place in 2010.
