HUGE traffic delays built up on the A258 Dover-Deal Road early today after a German articulated lorry went over on its side at the junction with Kingsdown Road, near Ripple Down House.

The accident happened at 2.53am. Within minutes of a passer-by warning police the road was blocked, a car ran into the ditch trying to avoid the lorry.

Neither driver needed hospital treatment. The road was blocked throughout the morning and there was difficulty finding an alternative heavy lorry route.
