A woman has escaped unharmed after a lorry smashed into the side of her car on the Aycliffe roundabout.

Motorist, Jen Sutton, the owner of County Brides of Faversham in Castle Street, said she needs new door panels to rectify the damage on her Fiat Punto.

The incident happened at 6pm last night - where the lorry apparently cut across Ms Sutton as she continued across the roundabout and on the A20.

She said: “I was heading home and a lorry decided it wanted the bit of roundabout I was on.

“I normally give them a wide berth anyway but this one just wasn’t interested and wanted all the road.”

The businesswoman said she was unable to see the brand of the lorry and could not get a registration number because it was dark.
