Bird's-eye view of £53 million St James' leisure and retail development in Dover

This stunning aerial photograph shows the continuing progress in the giant St James’ development.

The £53 million retail and leisure complex off Townwall Street, Dover, is due to open in the first quarter of next year.

The image was taken on Tuesday last week and shows Woolcomber Street on the left.

One of the latest businesses confirmed as moving in is The Food Warehouse Iceland.

This will be between the outdoor clothes shop Trespass and the discount store Poundland.

Others confirmed as moving in include Anytime Fitness, Costa Coffee, Card Factory, Greggs, Carphone Warehouse, Superdrug, M&S Food Hall, next and Shoezone.

There will also be a six-screen Cineworld and a Travelodge and 445 car parking spaces at the centre of the site.

The five planned new restaurants include Frankie and Benny’s, Bella Italia and Nando’s.

The development, covering 156,915 sq ft, is a partnership between the developers Bond City and Dover District Council and has RG Group as the main contractor.
