Man found dead at the bottom of the cliffs at Dover's Eastern Docks

Police have confirmed the death of a man in his 50s after a suspected cliff fall at the Eastern Docks in Dover.

Officers, paramedics and the fire brigade were called to the port at 8.20am, and said the man was declared dead at the scene.

A spokesman for the police said: "We were called to a report of concern for the welfare of a man at the Eastern Docks in Dover.

"Officers attended along with Port of Dover police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service where a local man in his 50s was declared deceased at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and next of kin have been informed. A report will now be compiled for the coroner."
