A mother has spoken of the moment a man allegedly attempted to snatch a little girl from a supermarket car park in Dover.

The woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, left Aldi in Cherry Tree Avenue on Thursday at about 6.30pm.

She said a man was lingering outside the back entrance and approached her asking to help with her bags.

He was disturbed by another man getting out of his car and ran away.

A police spokesman confirmed officers are aware of the incident.

He said: "I can confirm that a report was made about a suspicious incident.
