Points vital for Whites

DOVER go into this weekend's vital clash with Hinckley United at the Hoverspeed Stadium knowing that they need to pick up some points quickly after their disappointing away performances at Weymouth and Worcester.

Two heavy defeats and eight goals conceded have left Richard Langley's men looking over their shoulders as the jostling for that top 13 position really hots up.

Whites are in 12th place, three points inside the cut-off points for next season's new Conference South.

Manager Richard Langleysaid: "It is not about performances now. It is all about results and picking up points. I still believe that we need five wins from our remaining 10 games to qualify for Conference South, and though we have some tough games left I am confident that we can get the results we require."

Langley will be without Jamie Day, who is serving a one-game suspension, this Saturday while striker Jones Awuah has returned to Gillingham after the Gills refused to extend his one-month loan because of their current injury crisis.

Whites are left with Matt Carruthers and Craig Wilkins as their only recognised striker after Issy Amadi was released by mutual agreement. Langley will also have to decide between Paul Hyde and fit-again Dave Wietecha in goal.
