Police investigating an attempted burglary at a supermarket near Dover have made an arrest.

Between 11.10pm and 11.21pm on Tuesday, August 29, an attempt to steal money from a till was reported at Tesco in Whitfield.

Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

Police issued an appeal for information on Friday, and a 44-year-old man from Folkestone has since been arrested.

He remains in custody.
