Seven men found hiding in a lorry in Dover

Seven men have been found hiding in a lorry that arrived in Dover.

Police confirmed they were called to the scene at around 2.50pm and one of those detained has been taken to hospital.

A Home Office spokesman said: “Port of Dover Police discovered seven men during a search of a lorry that had arrived at Dover from Calais.

“Three of the men presented themselves as Iranian nationals and four as Iraqi nationals.

"One of the Iranian nationals has been taken to hospital.

“The others have been referred to immigration officers.

"They will be interviewed and their cases dealt with according to the immigration rules.”

It comes after 17 'Iranian' migrants were found on a fishing boat in Dover Harbour this morning.
