Three men arrested at the port of Dover have appeared in court today charged with Syria-related terror offences.
The men from Birmingham were allegedly trying to leave the UK to join Islamic State when they were detained on Good Friday.
Gabriel Rasmus, 28, of Chain Walk Lozells, Anas Abdalla, 26, of Fox Hollies Road, Acocks Green and Mahamuud Diini, 25, of Coventry Road, Small Heath appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court.
They were remanded in custody until May, when they will appear at the Old Bailey.
Police continue to urge anyone concerned that a friend or family member may be considering travelling to Syria to contact them on 101.
A spokesman said: "We work with a range of agencies that support and safeguard those vulnerable to radicalisation but early intervention is vital."
Two other men have been handed to immigration officials while a woman has been released without charge.
