Kent fell silent at 11am as those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom were honoured in services in the county's towns and villages.

The young and old have gathered at ar memorials or taken part in parades reminding the nation of the importance of remembering those who died in conflict for us.

Maidstone: The town's Remembrance parade began at 10.20am from County Hall.

Ex-service organisations, standard bearers and cadets processed along Week Street, High Street and over the bridge to the War Memorial at the Broadway.

At 11.15am, after the service, it returned with the mayor taking the salute outside the Town Hall.
