A robber has been jailed for more than four years after he floored and kicked his victim.

Sean Deane attacked a man in his 30s, at Priory Road, Dover, knocking him over and kicking him in the head and face before taking his wallet.

The witness challenged the two men before checking on the injured man and calling the police.

Deane and the second man were identified by the victim and Deane was recorded on dashcam footage admitting to the offence.

Deane, 22, of Folkestone Road, Dover, pleaded guilty to one charge of robbery at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday, June 22 and was jailed for 54 months.

The sentence will run concurrent with another crime for which Deane is currently serving time in prison.

This was for his part in a vicious assault on staff and passengers at Walmer station in December 2015 for which he was jailed for two-and-a-half years.

After this robbery case Investigating officer Det Con Kelly Snowden said: “This was a particularly violent attack that left its victim in a lot of pain and discomfort.

"Deane showed a complete lack of concern as he walked away from the scene, with the injured man lying on the floor in a dire state.

“Such vicious assaults are never warranted and Deane will have plenty of time to reflect on his actions behind bars.”
