The White Cliffs Ska and Reggae festival will rock Dover Town Hall through the roof today (Saturday).

Residents and festival goers from as far as London will fill the historic building from 1pm to 11pm.

Organiser Deborah Gasking said: “The local ticket sellers have been brilliant. This is going to be big for Dover and for Kent.”

From 4.30pm Hey Rudi will play and the bash will continue with the Channel One sound system from 6pm.

About 280 tickets have been sold through various Dover based pubs, salons and organisations, but they will also be available on the door at the same price, £15 for all-day entry.

Those under 16 get in for free. All festival goers can dip in and out of the event.

Ms Gasking particularly praised Big Issue seller Colin Davey who has sold large batches of tickets in Biggin Street.

On the day there will be copies of the publication on sale.

She continued: “I do have quite a few families.”
