Opportunists also tried to access another house in the same street, police have confirmed.
Two teenagers described as Eastern European, are being sought in connection with the burglary.

They were on push bikes and are believed to be about 16.

A police spokesman said: “One is described as ‘Eastern European’ and the other one was ‘mixed race’. They might be witnesses.”

Mrs Murphy said she has been to second hand shops in the area with leaflets showing what was stolen.

Advice on how to prevent opportunists targeting home has also been released by officers.
It urges people to double lock uPVC doors and close windows.

The spokesman said: “Burglars often break into homes from the garden where they have less chance of being seen.
