Laurie Knight, 63, charged with assaulting officers following a disturbance in St Margaret’s at Cliffe, near Dover

A woman has been charged with allegedly assaulting officers following a disturbance.

Police were called to Reach Road in St Margaret’s at Cliffe, near Dover, on Wednesday (December 27) following reports a woman was acting in an aggressive and threatening manner.

Officers attended and Laurie Knight, 63, was detained at the scene. It was reported that Knight assaulted two police officers whilst in police custody.

Knight was later charged with one count of using threatening or abusive language and behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress; two counts of assault on an emergency worker, and one count of possession of a class B drug.

She is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).
