Woman sustains serious injuries after being knocked down in Ladywell, Dover

A teenager has been taken to hospital with head injuries after being knocked down by a car this morning.

It happened at 8.30am, when a Ford Focus collided with the 18-year-old in Ladywell.

Police and two ambulance cars were at the scene and the air ambulance briefly attended for support.

The police station in Ladywell, Dover.

She suffered injuries including cuts to the back of her head.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said she was "at a reduced level" of consciousness.

She has been taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further tests.

The road has re-opened.
