A blockade at the Port of Calais has caused ferry disruption this morning.

The action is believed to have been put into place by workers from the defunct cross channel operator My Ferry Link.

Industrial action has closed the port of Calais

The photographer said: "Happening in Calais now.

By 1.15pm, we were told: "It has just been lifted. It disrupted vessels for about an hour. They were letting off flares while they were doing it as well."

P&O Ferries Updates has posted to twitter that the industrial action has delayed services.

The Port of Dover remained open for business as normal and continues to have a full service to Calais and Durnkerque.
