Chapman's strike Dover's only consolation

AFTER taking the lead Dover eventually finished well beaten in this clash between two of the early-season pacesetters in the Dr Martens League Premier Division on Saturday.

Whites went in front when midfielder Danny Chapman collected a poor clearance and let fly from 30 yards with a piledriver which gave home goalkeeper Mario Ziccardi no chance.

But Grantham equalised just before half-time when Steve Wenlock played the ball into the danger zone and it fell nicely for Jim Neil to beat Paul Hyde.

The home side were rewarded for their superiority after the break with two more goals.

Jamie Clark put them in front after 56 minutes, and then Neil wrapped up the points with his second goal in injury time.
