A DISPUTED penalty on the half hour sent Dover crashing to defeat and severely dented their promotion hopes.

Danny Chapman as alleged to have pushed a City forward, although video replays clearly showed this not to be the case.

But by that time the arguments were academic as Richard Scott buried a textbook spot kick in the bottom right corner of Dave Wietecha's goal, with the 'keeper going the wrong way.

Dover had a strong penalty claim of their own turned down, as Craig Wilkins appeared to be pushed.

Dover came back strongly after the break and came closest to scoring when Craig Cloke's volley hit the bar, while former Dover 'keeper Martin Davies did well to keep out a Wilkins header.
