Dover 3 Barrow 1 - match report

By: Andrew Gidley

Published: 17:30, 20 August 2016

Ross Lafayette's third goal in three games helped Dover complete an excellent week with a 3-1 Vanarama National League win over Barrow.

Lafayette, played a part in two of the goals, Moses Emmanuel credited with the first, to give White's a half-time lead ,before doubling the advantage with a deft flick 10 minutes after the restart.

Boss Chris Kinnear started with the same side that beat Eastleigh in midweek, with Ricky Miller and new signing Sammy Moore starting on the bench on a sunny, blustery, afternoon at Crabble.

Lafayette was involved in the build-up for the first - the ball finding it's way to Aswad Thomas on the edge of the area.

The defender fired the ball goalwards, and looked set to hit the net, only for Moses Emmanuel to pop up on the line.

The striker was credited with the goal by the tannoy announcer, but a shake of the head suggested he didn't get a touch.

Jordan Williams fired just wide for Barrow soon after half-time, before Lafyette doubled the lead with a deft flick wrong-footing goalkeeper Joel Dixon as the ball nestled in an empty net.

Sam Magri was booked for a challenge, but was celebrating seven minutes from time with his first goal for the club.

Thomas was again involved, his deep cross from the left finding Magri who headed in the third.

Barrow looked more threatening after bringing on prolific Ross Hannah.

He went close with one effort, fellow-sub Ritchie Bennett saw his shot blocked - and defender Moussa Diarra headed over the bar.
