Andy Hessenthaler

Boreham Wood v Dover

Dover manager Andy Hessenthaler will be looking for more "passion and drive" from his players in Saturday’s Ryman League Premier Division game at Boreham Wood.

After watching his side follow Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at AFC Hornchurch with another lacklustre display in beating Margate 1-0 at Crabble on Monday, Hessenthaler said: "I haven’t had to criticise my players very often since I have been here, but sometimes you have tell it as it is and I thought we were very flat in both games and lacked passion and drive.

"People might say ‘what’s he moaning about?’ because we have won three out of four and are third in the table, but I know we can play a lot better than that."

Hessenthaler expects goalkeeper John Whitehouse, who missed the Margate game because of a stomach bug, will be fit to return while centre-half Craig Cloke, who played a full 90 minutes for the Reserves last Saturday after recovering from a kidney operation will, according to the Dover boss, "definitely come into contention on Saturday".
