Offside decisions deny Dover

THE only winner at Saturday's match at Hardenhuish Park was the weather. A gale-force wind blew from corner to corner down the slope, and both both teams struggled to cope with the conditions.

Chances were few and far between in the first 45 minutes.

Five minutes after half-time, Matt Carruthers ran through and placed the ball through home 'keeper Mark Hervin's legs into the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside, even though Carruthers had to run past a defender after the ball had been played.

Twenty minutes later, the same thing happened. Carruthers looked well onside when the ball was played, but another goal was disallowed.
