Oldfield ends Dover's Cup dream

A SPECTACULAR overhead kick by Oxford's David Oldfield on 22 minutes ended Dover Athletic's FA Cup run.

Oldfield made no mistake from close in following a flick-on from Dean Whitehead.

The Kent club put on a fine display and went close several times. Early on Nicky Dent blasted wide from a good position.

Whites were then unlucky when Oxford goalkeeper Andy Woodman acted smartly to deny Dent who then fired wide from the follow-up.

After the game, Dover manager Clive Walker said he was pleased with the way his players had battled.
