MATT CARRUTHERS: netted in the last cup tie between the two teams

DOVER Athletic take on groundsharers Margate in the Kent Senior Cup semi-finals at the Hoverspeed Stadium on Tuesday night (kick off 7.45pm).

It is the first competitive meeting between the two East Kent rivals since Whites' relegation from the Conference two years ago.

The sides last met in competitive action just under two years ago when they fought out an entertaining 0-0 draw in the Conference at Crabble.

Jimmy Aggrey's Boxing Day strike at Hartsdown Park had earlier given Whites all three points in front of a crowd of nearly 4,000.

Athletic also won the last cup tie between the sides, with goals from Steve Norman and Matt Carruthers earning them a 2-1 extra-time victory in the 2000-01 Kent Senior Cup quarter-final.

The tie will be played to a conclusion on the night, with extra time and penalties if necessary. The winners will play Bromley or Folkestone in the final, with the home club to be decided by the toss of a coin.

Former Dover favourite Jake Leberl is likely to be in manager Chris Kinnear's line-up. Leberl played in the Gate's 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley on Tuesday.
