DOVER Athletic manager Clive Walker admits that watching his side at the moment "is doing his head in".

The reason for Walker’s angst is Whites’ failure to turn their dominance of matches into more goals.

Dover have scored more than one goal in a game just once in their last 10 matches, even though their overall play is showing distinct signs of improvement.

Walker says that Saturday’s 1-0 win at Burgess Hill Town was a typical example: "We absolutely dominated the game but ended up having to rely on a last-minute winner.

"It’s so frustrating when you are sitting on the bench watching chances go begging."

Jimmy Dryden’s continued knee problems are certainly not helping the situation. The striker’s injured knee swelled up again after he came on as a substitute during last week’s home defeat by Hastings.

Walker says that Dryden, whose presence would make such a difference to Whites’ attacking potency, is going to have to make another visit to the specialists.

The Dryden situation has meant Whites have stepped up their search for new blood, with chairman Jim Parmenter saying: "We are probably going to sign another player. We have got our eyes on a couple of targets and will make our move soon.
