Whites fail to salvage some pride

AN 88th minute winner for third-placed Eastliegh meant that Dover finished their Ryman Premier Division season in disappointing style.

The visitors started brightly and took the lead after only six minutes when Craig McAllister drove home through a crowd of players after Whites failed to clear a corner.

But the home side rallied and were level on 19 minutes when Shane Hamshare headed in a Matt Carruthers corner.

Just after half-time the Eastleigh keeper made a superb save to deny Daniel Braithwaite.

It looked as though the game was heading for a draw but McAllister had other ideas and was on hand to claim all three points for the visitors after a mix-up in the Dover defence.
