Herne Bay woman arrested and Orpington man charged after robbery at McColl's newsagents in Preston Street, Faversham

Police have made two arrests after a shop-worker was allegedly threatened with a knife at a Faversham newsagents.

Two people raided McColl's in Preston Street on Monday evening, before making off with a quantity of money.

Officers were called at 9.45pm but the duo had already fled with the cash by the time they arrived.

On Friday evening, 34-year-old Paul Godden, of Swallowtale Close in Orpington, was charged with robbery.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday, when he was remanded in custody.

A 24-year-old woman from Herne Bay was also arrested on suspicion of robbery. She has been released on bail until September 29 while investigations continue.
