Man arrested after cable theft in Faversham area

A man has been arrested on suspicion of cable theft after an incident in the Faversham area.

Police, officials from Southeastern, and British Transport Police staff, were involved in the operation.

A van associated with the man was also seized.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to the lines close to Faversham shortly before 10am on Christmas Eve following reports of cable theft.

"A 37-year-old man from Faversham was arrested at the scene and taken to police custody.

"He has been bailed until 31st January pending further enquiries."
