Car fire in Briton Road in Faversham

Fire crews were called out after a car was engulfed in fire.

Smoke billowed high in the sky as a Volkswagen Golf was ripped apart by flames, in Briton Road, Faversham.

Police officers closed the road at around 4.23pm as firefighters put out the blaze.

Spokesman Bethany Park said: "One fire engine attended and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used compressed air foam to extinguish the blaze."

Within 15 minutes the flames were put out.

Police have re-opened the road and confirmed no injuries were reported.
