Drivers heading home this afternoon are being warned to expect delays after a crash on the Thanet Way.

One lane of the busy dual carriageway is closed after a two-car crash at around 3.30pm today between Whitstable and Faversham.

A lane of the A299 London-bound, near to the Herne Hill junction, is blocked and there is an oil spillage across the road.

Police and Kent County Council are both at the scene and have warned drivers to expect delays.

Police spokesman Carly Wymark said: "Kent Police was called at 3.27pm on Wednesday, March 25 to a report of a two vehicle collision on the Londonbound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way, prior to Brenley Corner. Lane two remains open."
