Woman freed by firefighters after Thanet Way crash near Boughton under Blean, Faversham

Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash.

The accident left a woman trapped in her car on the coast-bound carriageway of Thanet Way near Boughton under Blean, Faversham just before 9am.

She was freed after firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove a car door.

The crash took place on the Thanet Way near Faversham. (5582560)

Multiple ambulances and police officers also attended the scene.

The woman, whose injuries include back pain, and another patient were then taken to the William Harvey Hospital after being assessed by paramedics.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.57am to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on the A299 Thanet Way, Faversham.

"Officers are in attendance along with SECAmb and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

"Two people have been taken to a local hospital as a precaution."

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
