Three car crash on M2 between Faversham and Sittingbourne caused problems for motorists for 3 hours

Three car crash lead to traffic being held on the M2 last night.

The crash happened on the London-bound carriageway between junction 6 for Faversham and junction 5 for Sittingbourne.

Police and ambulance crews were sent to the scene at about 6.50pm after the three cars collided.

It is not known if anyone was seriously injured, but police said the road was not fully reopened until about 9.40pm.

Police spokesman Scarlet Drayson said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving three vehicles at 6.49pm.

"Officers and Secamb attended the London-bound carriageway of the M2 by junction 6.

"Following recovery work, the road was clear by around 9.40pm."
