Long delays were caused by a crash where a vehicle is understood to have hit the central reservation.

Traffic was temporarily being held while the M2 London bound is cleared between junction 6 for Faversham and junction 5 for the A249.

Delays reached 30 minutes are expected but have since cleared.

Kent Police were called just before 8am and said the collision involved three cars.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Traffic conditions have returned to normal.
