TWO men were arrested and drugs worth more than £150,000 seized in police raids at two Kent addresses.

The arrests took place during a swoop at premises in Dunkirk Road, Faversham. Police say around 1,000 plants were found with a street value of £130,000.

The men arrested, aged 36 and 45, have been identified as illegal immigrants and are pending deportation.

A second raid at an address in Middlesex Road, Maidstone, uncovered 27 cannabis plants with a street value of £27,000. Police say they were tipped off by a member of the public.

Det Ch Insp Steve Woollcott said: "I hope these raids sends out a message to the criminal fraternity that drug cultivation in Kent will not be tolerated.

"Criminal gangs thinking that they can set up these factories and get away with it are sorely mistaken."
