Faversham was in gridlock this morning after a gas leak forced Highways to close the road.

But now authorities have announced the road closure will continue until Monday, September 28.

The road is closed between Tanners Street and South Road and traffic is being diverted through Stonebridge Way and Lower Road.

Buses are also delayed following the road closure and are being diverted through Stonebridge Way.

Traffic is busy on the A2 as well this morning as Highways continue to deal with an uncovered manhole which opened up on Monday following heavy downpours.

There are currently traffic lights near to Doddington Road and traffic is heavy in Ospringe as well.

Some users took to Twitter to vent their frustration.
