Delays have now cleared after two separate crashes on the M2.

The first accident involved three vehicles, and happened on the London-bound carriageway between Brenley Corner and junction 6 for Faversham at 7.24am

The vehicles involved were moved onto the hard shoulder and there were no reports of any serious injuries.

Around 20 minutes later, another crash - also involving three cars - happened on the same stretch.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene of both accidents.

One lane of two was closed, but has now reopened. Drivers faced lengthy queues until just before 10am.

Tailbacks, which also affected the A2 and Thanet Way approaching Brenley Corner, were not helped by a traffic lights failure at the roundabout.
