Lincoln Payne in court accused of attempted murder of grandmother and her sister in Faversham

A man has appeared at Maidstone Crown Court accused of two charges of attempted murder in Faversham.

Lincoln Payne, 29, is charged after his grandmother Maureen Burchett, 68, and her sister Lily McBride, 75, were stabbed and seriously injured in their home in Fostall Road, Faversham on May 30.

Payne, of Sheppey Way, Bobbing, near Sittingbourne, is also accused of robbery and theft. The alleged offences happened on May 30.

The court was told that both alleged victims were still in hospital.

Payne appeared via a video link from Elmley prison where he is being held.

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on September 14 when he is expected to enter a plea.

His trial has been set for November 30 at Maidstone Crown Court in front of Judge Charles Macdonald QC.
