JAMES MOODIE: vanished after Sunday lunch five years ago

THE supermarket chain Iceland has joined a campaign to help find missing Faversham man James Moodie.

The firm, which has an outlet in East Street, will feature a photograph of Mr Moodie with his description on two litre milk cartons sold in Iceland stores until the end of May.

His picture will also be featured on an Iceland lorry throughout the month.

The renewed appeal coincides with Missing Persons Month and May 17 also marks the fifth anniversary of his disappearance.

Last week the Faversham News reported how his photograph was being used in a campaign by the National Missing Persons Helpline to help raise awareness of missing people and missing issues.

His photo is one of 10 that will be prominently displayed on the side of 10 40ft Ford lorries along with the National Missing Persons Helpline number.

Mr Moodie, who lived with his parents Doris and Ronald in Faversham, was a 30-year-old horticultural technician at West Malling when he walked out of the family home on May 17, 1998, just after Sunday lunch. He has not been seen since.

Mr Moodie said: "We just want to know James' is OK. A phone call to ourselves or the National Missing Persons Helpline would put our minds at ease."

Mr Moodie is 6ft tall, and when last seen was slim, with short dark hair and blue eyes. He often wore a gold hoop in his left ear.

Anyone with information can call the confidential National Missing Persons Helpline on Freephone 0500 700 700.

Alternatively Mr Moodie can let someone know he is all right by calling the Message Home Helpline on Freephone 0800 700 740. Calls are confidential and a message can be passed on to his family.
