Sunday parking charges attacked

Churchgoers and swimming pool bosses have criticised the introduction of Sunday parking charges in Faversham.

The Rev Geoff Cook, minister of Faversham Baptist Church, said: “It is a real concern for us.

“We have an 80-year-old woman on a low income who comes a long way to attend church on Sundays. If she had to park in the car park it would be a strain on her finances.”

Staff at Faversham swimming pool are worried the charge will discourage customers.

The charge starts on Bank Holiday Monday.
