A YOUNG man was shot in the face by an air rifle as he stood waiting in the street for a group of friends.

The 19-year-old was standing in Bysing Wood Road, Faversham, ready to go on a fishing trip when he was hit. He was taken to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital suffering from a wound to the face after the incident, at about 9.30pm last Thursday.
