The puppy was discovered in a plastic box

Hoping for a new home in time for Christmas is this six-week-old terrier puppy found dumped outside a Kent veterinary surgery.

Staff at Faversham's Lady Dane Veterinary Surgery made the discovery on their way into work on Thursday.

Partner Dr Clifford George found the puppy by a nearby hedge inside an unmarked red plastic box, wrapped inside an old curtain. A small plank of wood was also placed on top, which the animal had managed to dislodge.

The female, which is in a good state of health, is now being looked after by the surgery’s staff.

• Anyone who may be interested in giving the puppy a home can contact the surgery on 01795 532180.
